At home

Our happy little guy!

Trying out the binkie for the first time.....he does ok with it, but it's not his favorite.

My boys

Jax loves his swing!

Day 3

No pics from day 2 in the hospital due to me being on the cardio unit but day 3 was the best being back on the maternity floor and Brody and Jax finally meeting. Brody did great and I think he liked exploring the room more than meeting his little brother.

Could I look any more tired? :)

Day 1

Finally! Is it possible that both my boys are napping and I get the chance to use our new iPad? I again apologize for the lack of pictures but we now have a program that actually works so I should get better. Don't hold me to anything though :). These pics are from our huge hospital room...no I did not use the bathtub but Jamie contemplated it.

A little drugged up

Stupid Computer!

Just so everyone knows, I have been trying really really hard to get pictures of Jax downloaded. Our computer is on the fritz and everytime (about a million) I try to get them downloaded on this blog it takes forever, then after waiting it won't do it :( Tomorrow I will be at my parents house and hopefully I can get pics on here!

We all have been doing great with the arrival of baby Jax. He is a great baby, a little more high strung then what Brody was but still good :) He hates having his diaper changed, and never seems to be full...well maybe for about 30 minutes after eating, but then starts smacking his lips and chewing on his fingers. He is actually letting us get some sleep at night, a few nights we got 4 hours in a row! I did forget how much a newborn poops! Brody has been a great help and just wants to give Jax hugs and kisses. He was 9lbs 3oz when we left the hospital and on his 1 week Dr. appt he was up to 9lbs 11oz.

Hopefully pictures will be posted tomorrow!!

New Boots

Brody loves the snow and ever since it started snowing last week all he wanted to do was play in it. Since he only had a pair of tennis shoes I decided (pre-Jax) to take him to get new snow boots. He got fitted for them at the store, and after putting them on his feet, he threw a fit! Crying (extremely loud) that he doesn't like them, and that he can't walk in them and that they needed to come off his feet. I still made him walk around the store, holding my hand just in case he said something like it hurt his feet then I would not have gotten them for him. Considering he cries anytime he gets new shoes I didn't think much of it. After we got home he couldn't wait to show dada, and now he doens't even like taking them off :)

He is obsessed with Jamie's phone. I am suprised at how good he is being able to find the apps then finding the games he likes to play.

Welcome to the family!

Welcome baby Jax Robert Felty born December 9, 2010 at 12:14 pm.. He was a mere 10lbs and 22 inches long :) A few of the quote from the delivery room from my midwife and nurse- "your placenta was the size of someone carrying twins" "that is one of the biggest umbilical cords we have seen in a long time. What were you feeding him?" All pretty funny!! Sorry I have not posted pics, but I have been choosing to sleep over blogging :) Here is what happend over the past days at the hospital.

Everything went well Thursday morning for my induction. Labor and delivery was uneventful and pretty pain free. I love epidurals!! I only had to push for 10 minutes, and total time from being induced to having Jax was only 6 hours. Everything seemed to go by so fast. Then about 10 minutes from getting to leave the labor and delivery room I started to feel a little light headed and sick to my stomach. I didn't say anything to the nurse because I figured it was just from the fact that I had been up since 3:30, only had a protien bar to eat, having a 10lb baby and the drugs starting to wear off....who wouldn't be a little light headed?? The nurse at this time was taking my pulse for the last time and got a funny look on her face. She then hooked me up to a pulse rate monitor. Apparently my pulse had dropped to 36 (usually it is around 70). Long story short, they had 3 different doctors come in and check on me, an EKG was done and instead of going to the maternity floor I was admitted overnight onto the cardio unit. Let me tell you the cardio unit was not fun. As I was wheeled down the floor every room I looked into people were hacking up lungs and the average age was 80.

I was pretty upset to say the least.....at first they were unsure if I could even see Jax while on the cardio unit due to all of the sickness. Thankfully with a little help from my mom we were able to get Jax wheeled down to see me so I could feed him 3 times during the night. Friday was just sitting around and waiting to get released from the Cardio doctor, who was supposed to make his rounds at 8, but didn't end up showing to my room till almost 1! I was not a happy mom and had not seen Jax since 5:30 that morning. Jamie was super dad throughout this whole time, running back and forth to check on me, going to the maternity floor to hold and feed Jax and still making time to go to my parents to spend some time with Brody. Just thinking about it now makes me tear up, word can not express what a wonderful dad and husband he is.

After getting an Echocardiogram I was finally able to go to the maternity floor. Let me tell you, I felt like I was in heaven. The first thing I heard when I got there was "welcome to quiet time." Was I dreaming?? The room felt like a suite at the Hilton compared to the cardio floor and all of the nurses were so happy to see me and were so attentive and knew how to treat a mommy.

So as you can tell the past 4 days have gone from the highest high, to a pretty low. Thankfully I am fine and they didn't find anything wrong with my heart. Jax is doing great, eating lots and sleeping lots. Brody is a great big brother and has been a big help with Jax. Although he doesn't want to hold him, he loves giving him lots of hugs, kisses and wants to be around him all the time. Jamie is enjoying being able to be home with all of us for the next few weeks. Thanks to everyone for their wonderful wishes and prayers. I promise to post pics very soon!

Prego Update

Well, I have gotten lots of requests from people who don't see me often to post pictures of myself pregnant. My first reaction is gross! But I am sucking it up and doing it. As of right now all is going well, and my due date is this Wednesday Dec. 8th. I do however feel that my stomach has stretched to the max and there is no more room for me to get bigger, yet I continue to grow each and everyday! I run into things with my stomach and Brody is at the exact height when he runs to give me a hug I have to turn to the side so his head doesn't bang into my stomach. Brody continues to be excited and will ask on a daily basis "where is Jax?" or "when is Jax coming?" He also reminds me each morning that "mama, your stomach is getting soooo huge!''....at least someone tells it like it is :)

This is a pic of my cousin Christy and I at Brody's b-day party on Oct. 23rd.

This is a current picture of me! My how I have grown in a month and a half. Sorry if my shirt makes you dizzy :)
